St James' Cemetery.  Liverpool

Although St James Cemetery and Gardens are a major historical part of Liverpool, it should not be forgotten that they play an important part in modern life as well.   Thanks to the work done by the Friends, the gardens now form a vibrant part of the local community.   People use the area to exercise their dogs or to grab a quiet sandwich during lunch hour from work, local schoolchildren use the area for classroom projects and Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) are producing some outdoor events in the grounds.

This page is to be a link to what is happening in the gardens.   It will also be a link to some projects for local schools.   We will be asking for people to contribute to this part of the site which will be as interactive as I can make it.
