St James' Cemetery.  Liverpool

The Friends of St James has been developed by the Conservation Foundation in association with local individuals and organisations.   The initiative began in 2001 when the Foundation created an environmental day for the Bishops of the Church of England at their annual meeting in Liverpool.   As a result of the Foundation's encouragement, Liverpool City Council have undertaken some essential improvements.   The objective of  the Friends of St James is to campaign for the Council to undertake further work as well as involving itself in projects and fundraising which can further improve the appearance of the area and encourage greater use of St James by both local people and visitors.

Through the hard work of The Friends, St James' Cemetery Gardens are now an integral part of the local community, and there plans for more activity within the grounds.

The Friends of St James intend to produce a regular newsletter which I will reproduce here on the site.   Membership, at present, is free although donations are encouraged.    You can download a membership form by clicking here

Or, alternatively I will be setting up a mailing list which will contain any announcements, newsletters or information.   To join this list please Click Here, or send me an email with Add me to Friends List in the subject line.
